WAPDA won the National Weightlifting Championship in Lahore, Pakistan Army won the second position.
The three-day National Men’s Weightlifting Championship was held at the University Grounds. The event was dominated by WAPDA weightlifters who bagged the first position.
In this event, the Army came second and the Railways came third.
WAPDA bagged the third position with 117 points, Army with 97 points and Railways with 82 points.
Several new records were also set in the championship, with Sharjeel Butt setting three records in the 55kg class, Abu Bakar Ghani in the 61kg class, Talha Talib in the 73kg class and Haider Ali in the 81kg class. , Noah Dastgir Butt set a record in the 109kg class.
Eleven teams from across the country took part in the championship, with Khalid Mahmood, secretary of the Pakistan Olympic Association, distributing prizes among the athletes.
