The European Union (EU) has partially suspended Visa facility for Belarusian officials

The Council of Europe has partially suspended visa requirements for Belarusian officials. According to the Council of Europe, the move is aimed at countering the Belarusian authorities’ use of refugees as a weapon against Europe, which Europe considers a hybrid attack..

It should be noted that the European Union has accused Belarus of bringing in refugees from all over the world and bringing them into Europe through Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. Easy visa facilitation between Europe and Belarus began on July 1, 2020, removing the same visa requirements for Belarusians as in other parts of the world. But as a result of political tensions with Belarus, Europe has begun to look into the matter. The European Union (EU) alleges that in response to the sanctions, Belarus in 2021 began arranging flights and domestic travel to facilitate migration to Belarus, first to Lithuania, then to Latvia and later to Poland.

Europe considers it a deliberate move by Belarus. In response, Europe closed the facility to Belarusian authorities. The decision will take effect within the next 48 hours, according to the Council of Europe.
