Lahore High Court reinstated Ahmed Owais to the post of Advocate General Punjab.
The Lahore High Court suspended the caretaker government’s notification to remove the provincial advocate general.
Justice Asim Hafeez of the Lahore High Court heard the petition for the rehabilitation of Ahmed Owais.
Hamid Khan Advocate told the High Court that there is an election for Vice Chairman and Chairman Executive of Punjab Bar Council, Advocate General Punjab has to conduct this election as Chairman.
Justice Asim Hafeez inquired where it is written that the Punjab Bar election cannot be held without the Advocate General, show the rules of the Punjab Bar Election in which the procedure for the election is clear.
On this, Additional Advocate General Barrister Hasan Khalid Ranjha said that new law officers have been appointed while the caretaker government has removed Advocate General Ahmed Owais from the post.
Justice Asim Hafeez also said that in my opinion this is an honorary position, which is appointed by the governor, to see how much mandate the caretaker government has, it is appropriate to keep this case for Monday, the case on that day. Will listen.
The government lawyer said that the election of the Punjab Bar Council should be postponed to Monday, they want to restore the election of the Punjab Bar Council by justifying it.
The judge of the High Court said that he was removed for the election of the Punjab Bar Council.
Ahmed Owais has challenged his removal from the post of Advocate General in the High Court, he was removed from the post on January 24.
